Real Raise vs Inflation

In Turkey, inflation (CPI) is the primary benchmark for evaluating a salary raise. If the raise is below the annual CPI rate, even though the nominal salary has increased, purchasing power is declining. Real raise = Nominal raise rate − Inflation rate. For example, a 25% raise with 40% inflation means real salary has eroded by roughly 10%.
