This tool estimates trip fuel cost based on the distance, consumption and price per litre you enter. Actual costs may vary with traffic, road conditions and driving habits — treat the results as a reference.

How Is Vehicle Fuel Consumption Calculated?

Fuel consumption is expressed in litres per 100 km (L/100km). The formula is: Consumption = (Fuel used ÷ Distance) × 100. For example, if 35 litres are used over 500 km: 35 ÷ 500 × 100 = 7 L/100km.

Total road cost is calculated as: Cost = (Distance × Consumption ÷ 100) × Price per litre. For 450 km, 7 L/100km and 45 TL/litre: (450 × 7 ÷ 100) × 45 = 1,417.50 TL. The calculator does this automatically — just enter your values.

How to Use the Fuel Consumption Calculator?

The tool works in three modes. In 'Trip cost' mode, enter distance (km), average consumption (L/100km) and price per litre — get the total fuel cost instantly. What Factors Affect Vehicle Fuel Consumption?

Fuel consumption is not a fixed value — it varies with many factors. Driving style is the biggest influence: sudden acceleration and hard braking can increase consumption by 20–30%. Frequent city stops use far more fuel than steady highway cruising. Tyre pressure, air conditioning use, vehicle load, hilly routes and engine maintenance also directly affect consumption.

Factory consumption figures are measured under ideal conditions. In daily use, real consumption can be 10–25% higher. For this reason, entering your own usage average rather than the factory figure will give a more accurate result.

Fuel-Saving Tips Before Your Journey

Check tyre pressure — each 0.1 bar below the recommended level increases consumption by around 0.5%. Using cruise control on long journeys saves fuel. Replacing the air conditioner with open windows is more efficient at low speeds; at highway speeds the reverse is true. Removing unnecessary luggage and weight, and taking off roof racks or spoilers when not in use, also reduces consumption. Finally, planning your route in advance to avoid traffic saves both time and fuel.
