Home & Living Calculators

6 free tools for paint, electricity, TV and home decoration.

Getting Home Measurements Right

The paint calculator subtracts doors and windows from your wall area to find the true paintable surface, then tells you how many cans you need at a typical 10-12 square meters per liter, doubling automatically for a second coat. The electricity bill tool computes monthly kWh consumption from each appliance's wattage and daily usage, then prices it at current tariffs so you can see exactly which device inflates the bill.

The TV size calculator recommends the ideal screen for your seating distance (using the rule of dividing viewing distance by roughly 1.5 to 2.5), and the TV mount tool gives the mounting height that puts the screen center at eye level. The curtain size tool accounts for pleat allowance, typically 2 to 3 times the window width in fabric.

The lighting tool calculates lumen needs by room type: a home office wants around 300 lumens per square meter while a bedroom needs only 100-150. Compare the result against the lumen figure on bulb packaging when you shop.
