What Is the Difference Between UTC and GMT?
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), the modern time standard, is based on atomic clocks, while GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) is a longitude-based time zone. In practice, the difference between them is less than a second, yet both serve as reference points for world timekeeping. Turkey is in the UTC+3 zone and this value does not change throughout the year.
Summer and Winter Time Practices
While some countries continue to observe Daylight Saving Time (DST) for energy efficiency, countries like Turkey prefer a fixed time zone year-round. Our tool automatically calculates summer/winter time transitions for each city using the IANA database — no manual updates needed.

The world is divided into time zones ranging from UTC−12 to UTC+14. Turkey is in the UTC+3 zone and does not change year-round.
