Business Day Calculator
Enter a date and a number of business days to see the resulting date, with weekends skipped.
Business Day and Working Time Calculation
Project deadlines, annual leave and salary payments are often planned in business days. This calculator skips Saturdays and Sundays when counting; it does not account for public holidays.
Public Holidays and Regional Differences
The real business day count depends on that year's national and religious holidays as well as Saturdays and Sundays. The tool does not remove these holidays automatically, so add any holiday that falls on a weekday to the result yourself.
Leave and Project Management
For example, how many days of a 10-day leave fall on weekends? Or which calendar date does '20 business days' from now land on? The tool answers both by showing the resulting date and the weekend days skipped.
Shift Work and Non-Standard Working Systems
The tool assumes a standard 5-day week, Monday to Friday. For a 6-day week or custom shifts, adjust the result for Saturdays yourself.
How to Use
Inputs
Two inputs are enough: the Start date (the day counting starts) and the number of business days to add. The result is clearest when the start date is a weekday.
Example Scenario
Delivery date for a project that starts on 15 April 2026 and takes 10 business days:
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Start date | 15 April 2026 (Wednesday) |
| Business days to add | 10 |
| Weekends skipped | 4 days (2 weekends) |
| End date | 29 April 2026 (Wednesday) |
| Total calendar days | 14 |
Tips for Accurate Results
- 01
Select a weekday as the start date; a weekend entry starts counting from the following Monday.
- 02
The calculator only skips weekends. Take public holidays off the business day count yourself.
- 03
For court, enforcement or administrative deadlines, check which day the relevant law counts from.
- 04
If you work in another country, you may also need to account for its public holiday calendar.
