Convert Any Date to Roman Numerals
This tool writes a date (DD/MM/YYYY) in Roman numerals; 14/05/2026, for example, becomes XIV.V.MMXXVI. This style is common in film credits, inscriptions and jewellery design. The reference table on the page lists common numbers and their Roman forms.
Use for Tattoo and Jewellery Designs
Roman numerals are common in tattoos marking a birth date, a wedding day or another milestone. Use the tool to check the conversion before a permanent design.
How Are Roman Numerals Read?
The basic symbols are: I (1), V (5), X (10), L (50), C (100), D (500) and M (1000). A smaller numeral placed to the left of a larger one is subtracted (IV = 4), while one placed to the right is added (VI = 6). In date conversions, the day, month and year are each converted separately and joined with a dot (·).
Historical Documents and Architecture
Dates in Roman numerals appear on old building facades and in the front pages of historical books. This tool only converts a standard date to Roman numerals, not the other way round. To read a Roman numeral, check the reference table in the tool.
How to Use
